Premium barbering services at our Liberty Village location. Walk-ins welcome. Not sure what cut to get? Read our guide to fades vs tapers.
Built on careful work, familiar faces, and the belief that a barbershop should feel like part of its neighbourhood.

Our shop sits at 68 Abell Street, across from the Drake Hotel. It is a small, welcoming space shaped by the people who work here and the clients who keep coming back.
Barbering has always been about more than the finished cut. We carry the tradition forward through thoughtful consultation, modern precision, and the kind of attention to detail that earns trust one appointment at a time.
Most of our regulars come from the streets around Queen West, Liberty Village, Little Portugal, and Ossington. Some walk over after work; others take the Queen streetcar from farther west. However they arrive, we want the shop to feel familiar, relaxed, and worth returning to.
Every street we serve has a story. Barberhood opened in 2018 to be a small but lasting part of Toronto's barbering tradition.

Toronto's barbering tradition stretches back to 1802. The brick-and-beam factories of Liberty Village were built in the 1860s. Barberhood opened in 2018 to be a small but lasting part of that story, on streets that have seen Toronto change a dozen times.

Yes. From 68 Abell St in Liberty Village, Queen West is a 6 to 8 minute walk north, and Trinity Bellwoods is a 10 to 12 minute walk east through the Liberty Village corridor. Many of our regulars come from Trinity Bellwoods, Ossington, Queen West, King West, and Little Portugal. Parkdale and Roncesvalles are a short streetcar ride west.
A skin fade blends the hair all the way down to the scalp using a straight razor for the cleanest, sharpest contrast. A standard fade leaves some hair at the shortest point. Our barbers do both, and every skin fade at Barberhood is finished with straight razor detailing on the perimeter. For the full breakdown, read our Fade vs Taper guide.
There is metered street parking on Abell St and nearby Lisgar St, plus paid Green P lots on King St W and Strachan Ave. Liberty Village is also a short walk from the 501 King streetcar, the 511 Bathurst streetcar, and about 12 minutes from Exhibition GO Station. The Drake Hotel and Rectory Café are around the corner if you want to grab coffee before your cut.
