A local note
Before Barberhood
York University's current land acknowledgement is the starting point. Then move through three short local chapters: the wider Finch corridor, Keele Campus and the shop serving York U today.
York University land acknowledgement ↗
Elia + the wider Finch corridor
01 / 03
Finch before the build-out
Two Toronto Public Library photographs show the wider Finch corridor before much of the area's later build-out. The 1958 church record places Elia Methodist Church at 1130 Finch Avenue West; the 1959 road view looks east toward Black Creek between Jane and Keele. They provide regional context, not a view of the exact shop site.
