“Your neighbourhood barbershop in Ossington

The Ossington strip has been named one of the coolest streets in the world by Time Out magazine. From Queen Street to Dundas, it is packed with some of Toronto's best restaurants, cocktail bars, and live music venues. Mamakas, Bellwoods Brewery, Painted Lady, Foxley, the list keeps going. The neighbourhood draws people who care about quality, whether that is food, drinks, or a haircut.

That is exactly the crowd we serve. Our Ossington clients are the ones who stop in before dinner, after work, or on a Saturday between brunch and shopping. The walk from Queen and Ossington to our door takes about five minutes: south on Ossington, right on Abell. It is an easy detour on your way through the neighbourhood.

The 63 Ossington bus connects directly from Ossington subway station to Queen Street, putting you a short walk from Barberhood. The 501 Queen streetcar crosses Ossington and stops within a block. If you are walking from Dundas and Ossington, it is about an 8-minute walk south.

Open seven days a week. Walk-ins welcome. Book online if you want a guaranteed time slot.

History of
Ossington

Ossington has grown from a local west-end strip into one of Toronto's most recognized restaurant and culture corridors. Its rise was significant enough that in 2009 the City introduced an interim control by-law affecting new restaurant and related uses between Queen Street West and Dundas Street West while planning reviewed the area's rapid change.

In 2009, Ossington's rapid growth led the City of Toronto to introduce special planning controls for the corridor.

That history gives Ossington a reputation for being both established and constantly evolving, with a strong local identity built around independent businesses. The strip between Queen and Dundas remains one of the city's best concentrations of restaurants, cocktail bars, and live music venues.
